Charlie Fitzgerald joined sixty-five members of the Financial Planning Association from 21 states in Washington, D.C. in late June for FPA Advocacy Day.  Charlie and four members of his team from Florida met with Senator Marco Rubio and Senator Bill Nelson’s staff, plus U.S. House Representatives Debbie Wasserman Schultz, David Jolly and Alcee Hastings, among others.  The purpose of the trip was to raise awareness of FPA and the financial planning profession.

Tracy Smith on the NYSE FloorIn June, Tracy Smith toured the New York Stock Exchange while in the city for a meeting of TD Ameritrade’s national Operations Panel. The group consists of operations personnel from some of the top independent firms in the U.S. who give feedback to TD Ameritrade on how to better serve the needs of independent firms and their clients.

Moisand Fitzgerald Tamayo, LLC,  received final approval from the U.S. Patents and Trademark Office for a service mark registration of the firm’s slogan, “A Sanctuary From The Noise℠”. Registration formalizes the firm’s right to exclusive use of the phrase for business purposes.  As Dan Moisand told Florida Today, “The public is inundated with information, much of it incorrect, impractical, or irrelevant to their personal financial decisions. We are one of the few firms from which people can get objective, personalized advice from a truly independent source and our slogan embodies that mission.”

New Digs!  Our Maitland office has moved to the SunTrust Building in Downtown Orlando as of August 1st.  The Melbourne office will remain in the same location. Our new mailing address is 200 S. Orange Ave., Suite 2025, Orlando, FL  32801.  The entrance to the parking garage is around the corner at 25 W South Street.
